3 Find an image that represents the fur trade in Canada. Which two European countries were mainly involved in the Fur trade? Why was fur so popular? Why people come to Canada? How did First Nations people help the fur traders? Why did they do this? Where were the furs exchanged? What did these places become?

4 Find an image of early French settlers in New France. Why did the King of France want to encourage people to settle in New France? Who were the Filles de Roi? Who were the habitants? Describe their lifestyle.

11 Find a photo of immigrants working on the railroads. Why did Chinese men first move to Canada? What were conditions like for railroad workers? How did the Canadian government make it difficult for more Chinese people to move?

12 Why did Japanese people move to Canada? Why was there a riot in 1907?  Find an image of Japanese immigrants.

13 Find an image that represents World War II refugees. Who were the guest children and why did they come to Canada? Why did the guest children stop coming?

14 Who were the war brides? How many war brides came to Canada? What problems did some of the war brides face?
