 Unit 1: The Number System  Unit 2: Ratios and Proportional Relationships  Unit 3: Expressions, Equations, and Inequalities  Unit 4: Geometry  Unit 5: Statistics  Unit 6: Probability Concepts to be Covered:

On-line Component  This book series comes with an amazing on-line component.  Each student will have their own login and password.  Textbook available online.  Students will be completing homework assignments and submitting them online.

Resources:  Interactive Video: Introduces the lesson and connects the concept to real world situations  Math On the Spot: This allows the students to get instruction from one of the main writers of the textbook.  Animated Math: Students will be able to explore different key concepts and see how the math actually works.  Personal Math Trainer: Students have the ability to go through different math problems that correspond to the lesson they are completing. A tutor is available to help the students through each of the problems, giving hints as needed.

 Doing homework is essential to learning mathematical concepts. It gives students the opportunity to work independently, as well as reinforce and extend previously learned skills.  Homework may be assigned daily.  All work must be shown.  Homework is graded for accuracy and/or completion.  Failure to complete daily assignments will be reflected in your grade.  If you are absent from class, it is your responsibility to get the notes and complete the missing work. Homework:

Assessments:  Minor assessments may be given once a week or once every two weeks. These assessments can be in the form of homework, bell ringer, or quizzes to check for understanding.  Major assessments will be given at the end of a unit and/or a module. However, there may be some assignments/activities that will be counted as a major assessment.

Web Site: Students and parents may access my web site through the district at www.summithill.org. This site will have updated information about classes as well as daily assignments in my homework page. Also available on this site are links to the available resources of the textbook. In addition, I have also included useful websites that will help students that are not understanding a concept. Some of these sites will also reinforce concepts
