International Association of drilling contractors

 Since 1940, the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) has exclusively represented the worldwide oil and gas drilling industry. Membership is open to any company involved in oil and gas exploration, drilling or production, well servicing, oilfield manufacturing or other rig-site services

For what ?  Catalyzing improved performance for the drilling industry  For the drilling industry to be recognized for its vital role in enabling the global economy and its high standards of safety, environmental stewardship and operational efficiency.

A big association with operational committees  Committees are IADC’s principal forums for pursuing its mission of improving industry health, safety and environmental practices; advancing drilling and completion technology; and championing responsible standards, practices, legislation and regulations that provide for safe, efficient and environmentally sound drilling operations worldwide

 The Association is a leader in developing standards for industry training, notably its Well Control Accreditation Program (WellSharp™) and rig-floor orientation program, RIG PASS® among others. 8 Offshore Operating Division  The Offshore Operating Division is one of three Divisions established by the Association By-Laws. In accordance with the Association By-Laws, various Committees, Subcommittees and Working Groups are organized under the auspices of the Offshore Operating Division to respond to membership needs. These primarily focus on providing guidance to facilitate safe, efficient and environmentally sensitive operations and to address regulatory initiatives and technical standards development activities that are not within the scope of activities of IADC’s Standing Committees

Advanced Rig Technology Committee  To improve safety and efficiency through sound operating procedures, design of automated systems and standardizing automation. Issues of note include control philosophy, communication protocol between equipment, competency, and comprehensive automation of the complete drilling process, integrating surface and downhole equipment, including completion systems

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Committee  The mission of the IADC Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Committee is to provide a forum to exchange the best practices of Committee members and to disseminate those practices to the IADC membership; to structure the performance measures of the industry and assist the IADC in their promotion and publication; and to serve as a channel for members, government agencies, manufacturers and customers to interact to improve the performance of the industry in matters relating to occupational safety and health, and environmental affairs
