10.  Grade  Point  Average  Grade Point Average or GPA is calculated by assigning number values to the semester letter grades for each class then dividing by the total number of classes.

12.  For Dual Enrollment (DE), Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) courses, teachers will add five (5) points to each nine weeks grade.  For Honors, Dual Enrollment, and courses resulting in national industry certification, teachers will add three (3) points to each nine weeks grades. Note: Points are only added to nine weeks grades not Final Exams or Semester Averages.

13.  For students taking High School level courses, grade averaging is an option for students who failed one semester with a numeric grade between 50 and 69, and passed the other semester where both semester numeric grades added together equals or exceeds 139. Note: Failing semester grade will still be calculated into students GPA.
