2  Our house run’s on Geothermal energy and is located in Puna, Big Island, Hawaii.

3  How Geothermal plants make energy is the water that seeps into the earths crust is heated up and boiled by the hot lava and it becomes water vapor. We access the Vapor by either drilling a hole where there is a lot of it or from a hot spring. Vapor spins the turbine, which spins the generator creating electricity.

5 1. Does not cost a lot of money after the plant is made. 2. Reduces reliance on fossil fuels 3. No pollution 4. Job creation

6 1. Not a widespread source of energy 2. Suited for only particular regions of the nation. 3. They can in extreme cases cause earthquakes from the drilling.

8  Double pane windows help decrease the heat transfer in homes, unlike single pane windows.  Uses the natural light to heat up the house.  The separation between the two glasses creates insulation.  When cool outside, keep the curtains open. When hot outside, close the curtains to cool the house.

9  Even in Puna, Hawaii, it still has cold months and hot months.  For example:  Warmest Months: August and September  Coolest Months: January, February, and March  Double pane windows would be perfect to help maintain a comfortable temperature.
