Session Overview CTE Performance and Accountability Overview EMIS Reporting for CTE –FY14 EMIS Changes –Common Issues FY2014 State CTE Funding

FY2014 EMIS Changes October (K) –CTE Subject Codes Yearend (N) –CTE TECHNICAL Assessment Codes – Changes? –CTE INDUSTRY Credential Reporting – Changes?

Common Issues – CTE College Credit Element Indicates if a career-technical course provides an opportunity for students to earn college credit. Formal agreement exists between the district and the college that indicates the course is eligible for college credit (e.g., dual/concurrent enrollment, articulated credit, Career-Technical Credit Transfer (CT2)).

Who is a CTE Concentrator? A student who has completed half of a CTE Workforce Development Program and has enrolled in the next portion of the same CTE program.

Monitoring “CTE Concentrator” Reporting Monitor during Yearend (N): Total CTE Concentrator Count – Located in CTE EMIS Performance Report. Individual Student CTE Concentrator Status – CTE EMIS CSV File (associated with CTE Performance Report).

CTE Program of Concentration Element (FN290) Enter “CTE Program of Concentration” code in SIS when CTE Concentrator status is reached. –EXAMPLE: If two-year program, enter two- digit code in SIS the autumn of the second year. Enter only one “CTE Program of Concentration” code for each student. Report data in EMIS at Yearend (N).

State CTE Funding Anchor and related classes (curriculum code VT, VP, VN, VC) – subject code will determine funding tier CTE Academic classes (curriculum code VA) – assigned to tier 4

State CTE Funding 4

A technical assessment taken and reported must align with student’s CTE Program of Concentration. If assessment available for student’s CTE Program, student should take assessment. –SWD too! Technical assessments include: –CTE Technical Assessments – Webxam assessments (OSU/CETE) – NO COST to district. –CTE Industry Assessments – Various vendors and costs. 11 CTE Technical Assessments

CTE Student Assessment Record (GY) –Webxam results – Report in EMIS Yearend (N). Student CTE Industry Assessment Record (GU) –Industry Assessment data – Report in EMIS Yearend (N) & March (D). 12 Reporting Technical Assessment Data

Industry Credential Data CTE Workforce Development Follow-Up Record (GV) Collect data from students during school year and via CTE Follow-Up Survey. (Or collect by other reliable means.) Manually enter data in SIS. Report in EMIS GV Record in March (D).

Fact or Fiction? The CTE Report Card will be issued for individual schools and districts. Fiction The CTE Report Card will be issued to Career-Technical Planning Districts.

Fact or Fiction? Students who come to my career center in their fifth year will hurt my graduation rate. Fiction Graduation rates reflect students who become concentrators by the end of their fourth year of school.

Fact or Fiction? Students with disabilities who continue secondary education after completing graduation requirements (grade 23 students) will be included in my graduation rate. Grade 23 students are not systematically removed from any graduation rates. Caveat: If students are not concentrators by the end of year 4, they are not included in the cohort rates. Fact

Fact or Fiction? The cohort graduation rates can be calculated by averaging 4 years of Perkins 4S1 data. The cohort rate is a fundamentally different calculation, and can not be estimated by averaging these single year rates. Fiction

Fact or Fiction? Grades reported in the recent simulation data are final. Fiction Grades released in July are simulations only, and are subject to change.

Future Report Cards Still in development Opportunities for feedback Timeline for implementation
