3 Objectives Explain the influence of physical geography on South Carolina history. Make and use maps, globes, graphs, charts, and models to illustrate and analyze location and spatial distributions of physical and cultural features in South Carolina and the United States. Describe and locate physical and local characteristics such as landforms, drainage patterns, and natural resources in South Carolina and the US.

24 Lakes of South Carolina There are eleven major lakes in South Carolina. They are: Moultrie, Marion, Murray, Greenwood, Hartwell, Wateree, Keowee, Thurmond, Jocassee, Russell, and Wylie. (all are man-made)

25 Climate South Carolina has a mild humid subtropical climate. The growing season lasts from April through October.
