3 Our Numeracy Journey (Pre LNF) Literacy and Numeracy co-ordinators were appointed. Literacy and Numeracy support officers were appointed. Increased number of learning core lessons KS3 focussing on Literacy/Numeracy skills (ESW AoN in Y9, beginning ESW Communication in Y9) Designated Literacy and Numeracy bases were established for interventions Literacy and Numeracy intervention groups set up across KS3

5 Introduction of LNF Staff guide to LNF produced and presented in TLR meeting Whole school curriculum audit (departments) Whole school map of skills provision was produced Staff audit (teaching, non-teaching and ITET students) of training needs conducted INSET programme - personalised twilight programme whole school literacy and numeracy days

8 Twilight Inset Programme From the audit returns; Staff were asked to identify which sessions they would be attending (5 X 1 hour sessions) Workshop sessions were delivered by the maths and English departments The programme was put together in consultation with both departments in terms of staff delivering and timing of workshops Workshops ran on different days of the week to allow attendance of part-time staff.

10 Implementing and Tracking LNF Increased accountability for Numeracy co-ordinator through:- –Analysis of data – standards reviews –Monitoring and tracking pupils on interventions –Systematic programme of meetings with HoDs to support and challenge strategies used –Co-coaching programme for members of staff needing support –Regular book monitoring –Training for staff via Outstanding Teachers of Numeracy programme –Further development of Numeracy toolkit

11 Curriculum Planning Review of all KS3 Schemes of Learning Identification and integration of appropriate Numeracy (and Literacy) skills into all areas of the curriculum. Consistent approach – coded topic overview, lesson by lesson planning.
