4 Research Aims Strengthen the identify the scope and characteristics of social work research in order to support social work researchers. The committee has produced a statement on social work research The Social Work Research Statement http://www.iassw-aiets.org/research. http://www.iassw-aiets.org/research Action Plan 2015 A special edition of Social Dialogue on social work research Disseminating the Statement on Social Work Research and encouraging its use in social work education. 2016 survey and map research approaches and the ways that research skills are taught and organised in member schools. 5 International Projects Invitation to submit projects, designed to advance social work education internationally. Grants of up to US $4.000 For proposals that contribute to the implementation of the IASSW Mission Statement, and to the enhancement of cooperation among schools of social work world-wide. 6 Capacity Building Aim to offer capacity building activities by: supporting the development social work education throughout world, especially where it’s an emerging profession. working in partnership with local universities, governments and Regional Associations enhancing the knowledge and expertise of local social work educators and professionals ALWAYS A CONSTRUCTIVE INTERACTION BETWEEN THE LOCAL AND GLOBAL Janet Williams - Vancouver 20156

7 Strengths that IASSW brings: Expertise of social work educators from different parts of the world whilst working closely with regional and national associations of SW education The globally agreed standards for educational practices are the base line whilst honouring diversity and facilitating the development of culturally appropriate practices Funding – finding it, & some IASSW seed money Janet Williams - Vancouver 20157
