1 IB Group 4 Project 2015-16

2 Groups: Pick up a color Get a colored slip of paper based on the course you are testing for in May. If you are registered in 2 course, then take the slip you want to be responsible for in the group project. Design Tech students: PINK Biology Students (both HL and SL): GREEN PHysics Students (both Hl and SL): BLUE Computer Science (Both HL and SL): YELLOW

3 GROUP MEMBERS Now form a group with at least 1 design tech, 2 biology, and 1-2 computer science and 1-2 physics students in each group. Assign one member to be the recorder of the information on the handout and on the Google Form to be sent to you today.

4 Basic information: This is as collaborative assignment! 1. Members must represent all group 4 subjects within one group a. Our limiting factor is Design Tech, therefore there will be 17 groups. 2. Each member must contribute 10 hours worth of time to the project 3. Each member must participate based on the subject group they represent 4. Teachers came up with the overarching theme from which you must decide on your group’s focus/title of your project. This is very open-ended! 5. Form a final product to present each member’s contribution to your project ***Review the subject guide found on the troyhigh.com IB page for each subject to get the details of the Group 4 Project.

5 Theme Space Exploration/Colonization

6 Description and Due dates Teachers will describe the process and sample ideas to fulfill the many varied aspects of each group’s project as required by IB. Step 1: Organize groups, focus of project and member responsibilities (today) Form due to Mrs. K by Friday! Step 2: Follow through with your research, calculations, data collection, designs, etc as decided by your responsibility (10 hours of work, today does not count!) Step 3: Compile your evidence/results/models of your group collaboration in a final product (Powerpoint) Due to Mrs. K on Google Classroom (I will set up) on 2/18/16.

7 Your turn Now you and your group have the remainder of the time to begin to collaborate on your idea and come up with each member’s responsibility.
