Workforce Investment and Opportunity Act Youth age 16-24 High School dropouts, GED students Youth who have a secondary diploma or GED and are low income and basic skills deficient Homeless, Runaway, or Foster Child Youth who is Pregnant or Parenting Low Income (as determined by state income guidelines) – Includable Income Amount for the last 6 months compared to the family size Receiving Public Assistance – Food Stamps, TANF, Supplemental Security Income, State or Local Income Public Assistance, Receives or Eligible to receive free lunch Lives in a High Poverty Area (poverty rate above 30% as determined by Census) WIOA Pre-Application & Eligibility Birth Certificate Driver’s License or Photo ID Social Security Card Address & Family Size Verification Verification of Public Assistance Income Verification Draft Verification (Males 18 or older) Grades or Withdrawal Form from high school or TABE scores from GED school

2 Augusta Technical College Campus 3200 Augusta Tech Drive Building 300 Augusta GA, 30906 (Job Training Unlimited, Louisville Office 478-625-3965) Career Decision Making & Aptitude Assessment and Counseling Future Plans & Setting Goals Job Readiness Modules Application Completion, Developing Resumes, Interview Preparation, etc. Occupational Skills Training Certification Courses – ServSafe, Forklift, OSHA, or any other approved Credential Classes offered through an accredited College/Technical School Supportive Services for GED students Monetary Transportation Stipends per verified attendance day Testing Fees – Practice Tests and GED Exams Monetary Incentive upon obtainment of GED

3 To be SUCCESSFUL, youth participants must meet TWO requirements. The first is to complete an educational program and second is to become self sufficient. 1. Obtainment of a Certificate/Credential Certification Classes, WIOA pays cost for the class GED Classes 2. A. Enrollment in Post Secondary Education (College/Technical School) College Applications, WIOA pays application fees Financial Aid Applications, Out of School Youth are eligible for ITA services B. Employment Job Search Developing Resume Completing Applications C. Military (Army, Airforce, Coast Guard, Marine Corp, Navy) Contact with Recruiters
