Welcome to the Donmar Warehouse Theatre – the smallest of ATG venues! Created by Emily Revell

The Donmar is hidden away in Covent Garden, but you can spot us by our trademark red sign …

Come through our front doors, straight into the Foyer. The Foyer can get very busy about half an hour before the show.

Can you see our Box Office? Come and pick up your ticket or buy a programme.

You will need a ticket to see the show. Your ticket will show you where you are sat.

You will need to go up the stairs- that’s where the auditorium, bars and toilets are. Our Staff are here to help, you might have seen them as you arrived…

Our Staff are called Ushers and they will be wearing one of these T-Shirts, and they will have a name badge on.

These are the stairs you will walk up. If you are sat in the Stalls, go up one floor

If you don’t want to use the stairs, we have a lift you can use. It is next to Box Office. The Usher can show you how to use it. Press 1 for Stalls, 2 for Circle.

Here is the Stalls Usher. They can help you find your seat, the toilets, the bar, or even sell you an ice cream. If you need the Easy Access toilet, you need to go up to the Circle.

On this level you can visit the Stalls bar to buy a drink or a snack. Snacks can be noisy though, so best to eat them before you go inside. This bar can get very busy.

If you are sitting in the Circle, you will need to keep going up to the very top of the stairs.

As you go around the Theatre, have a look at all the photo’s on the walls. Maybe you’ll recognise some of the famous faces…

As you arrive in the Circle, you will find another Usher. They can show you how to get to your seat, the bar or the toilets.

These signs are on the walls, and can help direct you to the toilets, the bars and the auditorium.

This is the Circle bar. If you want, you can buy a drink or a snack. Snacks can be noisy though, so best to eat them before you go inside. This bar is usually quite quiet.

When the show is about to start, you will hear an announcement telling you to take your seats as the show is about to begin… How exciting!

This is the auditorium where you and everybody else will sit and wait patiently for the show to start.

When the show is about to start, it will go very dark and there might be some music. Its ok to cover your ears if the music is too loud.

Its important to try and remember to sit still and remain quiet during the show. If you have any questions, or thoughts, you can speak about these at the end.

If for any reason you feel you want some time out, you can leave the auditorium. You can watch the rest of the show from a screen in the Circle bar- as we don’t let people back inside.

Depending on what sort of play it is, the actors might make a joke and the audience might laugh. You can laugh too if you want. If it’s a sad play, you might feel a bit sad. That’s ok too.

If there is an emergency, a Manager will tell everyone that they need to leave the Theatre. Just remain calm and follow everyone else, and look for the green exit signs. Ushers can help you if you need assistance.

When the show finishes, the audience will clap to thank the actors. They might shout out ‘bravo!’. You can clap too. But if its too loud, you can cover your ears.

Now that the show has finished, the audience will start to leave. The auditorium might get a bit crowded, so you can wait in your seat until its quieter if you want.

When you want to leave, you can exit the way you came in – just follow the exit signs that are above the doors.

You will go back down the stairs…

…through the foyer...

…and out the doors. We hope you enjoy visiting us!
