Spring in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park Go! Schools Spring 2016 Assembly

Local composer Emilie Levienaise- Farrouch has created an audio tour of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Close your eyes and listen to the audio tour. What can you hear? What scenery do you imagine? 2

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has inspired many artists, local and international, to be creative. There are 26 pieces of permanent artwork in the Park. 3

One of the original pieces of art created for the Park is the Cross and Cave sculpture by Heather and Ivan Morrison. 4

Plans are underway to build the Olympicopolis, a new cultural district in the Park. This space will bring together leading organisations showcasing art, dance, history, craft, science, technology and design. The organisations involved include University College London, Victoria & Albert Museum, University of the Arts and Sadler’s Wells. 5

How do you like to be creative? Compare your interests with the person sitting next to you. 6

The Park is surrounded by over 2 KM of artwork! Known as the Living Walls, these hoardings feature 40 different works of art created by local artists together with the local community. Have you seen any of Living Walls? What is your favourite part of Living Walls? 7

You too can be inspired to get creative by Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Imagine you are making a new piece of art for the Park. What would inspire you in the Park? What would you create and where would you place it? How would you like it to make people feel? 8 Indicative CGI – not final design
