Percent of a quantity as a Rate per 100 Review 1.Once in designated groups, pick a group leader to report to the computer center to print a worksheet. 2.While the group leader is printing the worksheet, the other group members need to open their ShowMe Interactive Whiteboard App. 3.Pick a group member to record answers on a separate sheet of paper. You may use the interactive whiteboard to solve the problems from the worksheet. Students will review the standard in groups of four with Ipads using an Interactive Whiteboard app. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Students will review quantity as a rate per 100. S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

Percent of a quantity as a Rate per 100 Review 1.Open the chrome browser to https://quizlet.com/https://quizlet.com/ 2.Sign in using your teacher’s email and password provided on the front board. 3.Once you have logged in, click “Create Study Set”. 4.Your group will come up with questions, vocabulary terms and answers to create flashcards. 5.Once every groups is finished, the class will rotate iPads/laptops. The group manager will record the answers for the group. 6.To study the flashcards and problems that have been created, click “Study”. Students will review standard by making flashcards for peers that consist of problems and vocabulary terms in groups of three. Students will also have to provide the answers on the reverse side of the flashcard. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Students will demonstrate their knowledge of percent's as decimals and fractions in order to create flashcards with answers for peers. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Shopping for Sales Activity 1.Once students are in groups of three and have assigned jobs the activity may begin. 2.The “recorder” of the group goes to a specific problem on the wall and records the problem and returns to the group. 3.Once the group has the problem you may open the interactive whiteboard to solve the problem. The groups manager will record all answers on loose leaf paper. 4.After your group has decided on an answer, the “checker” of the group will check the answer by returning to the card and scanning the QR code on the card. 5.Once you have finished five problems. The group’s manager will pick one of the problems for the group to create a “how-to” video on by using the show me app. 6.Open the showme app. The groups manager will click “create show me”. After, the group manager will record the “how-to” video using the showme hand writing and voice features. 7.When complete click save and close the ShowMe app. 8.Post your link to your ShowMe recording on Blackboard in the Discussion Board titled “ShowMe”. Review at least 2 posts whether you agree or disagree with “how-to” video explanation. Support your answer. Prior to the lesson the teacher will create a “shopping mall” in the classroom. Printed pictures with prices will be placed around the room. Each item will have a percentage off and the students must find the new “sale price”. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Students will receive instant feedback regarding questions they have answered. They will provide sound knowledge of “per 100” means over 100 and demonstrate conversion of percentages to decimals. M MODIFICATION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable

Peer Teach Shopping Sales 1.Once you are in groups of four, open the interactive whiteboard app. Draw an item that is on sale and then solve the problem you have created. 2.Once you are finished screen shot the item you have created and the work your group used to figure out the problem. 3.As a group think of a plan to produce a “how to” video of the problem you have just created. 4.Next, you will create a video in front of the class using the show me app and the apple tv to project it onto the promethean board. Your classmates will give you feedback on the strategies you have used and you may have the option to recreate your video after collaborating as a group about your feedback. 5.Once the video has been created, email it to kayla.lejeune@cpsb.org. I will share it on my blackboard website in order for all students to view it.kayla.lejeune@cpsb.org 6.Your homework will be to view another group from a different classes’ video and give written feedback about their video. (Student’s who do not have access to computers will be allowed to do this step during class time.) Students are asked to create their own version of a shopping card, present their method of solving to the class by creating a video demonstrating their method, and are then asked to share the video with their classmates. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): Students are asked to demonstrate knowledge of two step problems using percentages and decimals. Students will collaborate with peers and work created will be shared for all students to see. R REDEFINITION Technology allows for the creation of new tasks that were previously not conceivable

Louisiana State Standard: 6.RP.A.3—Find a percent of a quantity as a rate per 100 (e.g., 30% of a quantity means 30/100 times the quantity) solve the problems involving finding the whole, given a part and the percent. IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Task OverviewLearning Objective(s)Suggested Technology Students will create their own problems, solve those problems, and create a hands on audio video broadcasted and filmed simultaneously. The videos will then be shared on the teacher’s blackboard site and students will give feedback on video’s from other classes. Students are asked to demonstrate knowledge of two step problems using percentages and decimals. Students will collaborate with peers and work created will be shared for all students to see. -Students will use a word document to print their worksheet from -Students will use the interactive whiteboard app to collaborate and show work Students will solve problems the teacher has created but get instant feedback using QR codes. Students will also demonstrate their knowledge by creating a video showing steps in solving the problem. Students will receive instant feedback regarding questions they have answered. They will provide sound knowledge of “per 100” means over 100 and demonstrate conversion of percentages to decimals. -Students will use an ipad with a QR app and showme app. Blackboard Students will use Quizlet to create problems and vocabulary flashcards. When finish students will alternate laptops and take other student’s quizzes. Students will provide written feedback ab out the quizzes. Students will demonstrate their knowledge of percent's as decimals and fractions in order to create flashcards with answers for peers. Students will use laptop computers and ipad's access the website https://quizlet.com/. https://quizlet.com/ Students will print a worksheet that the teacher has printed from the McGraw Hill website and saved on the desktop for easy access. They will then use an interactive white board to collaborate easily in order to solve the problems as a group. Students will review quantity as a rate per 100 and solve problems using percentages and decimals. -Students will print a worksheet from a word document. -Students will use Ipads to access an interactive whiteboard.
