3 Grant Types and Rates Fee Grant (Paid directly to College) Postgraduate Students €2,000 Postgraduate Fee Contribution (income < €31.5k) OR €6,270 Tuition Fees (income < €22.7k and qualifying DSP payment) Undergraduate Students €3,000 Student Contribution OR €6,270 Tuition Fees (dependent on “Free fees” eligibility) 100% or 50% rates (dependent on income thresholds) Maintenance Grant (Paid to Student – 9 monthly instalments) Not payable if on BTEA €1,215 adjacent or €3,025 non-adjacent (“adjacent”<45km from college) 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% rates dependent on income thresholds (€40k-€65k) Special rate: €2,375 adjacent/€5,915 non-adjacent (DSP payment & income < €22.7k)

4 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA Class: Dependent/Independent Students aged under/over 23 Years “ordinarily resident with parents” NB First Point of Entry to Further/Higher Education Nationality: Irish, EU, EEA, Swiss nationals or specific leave to remain in State Residency : 3 of last 5 years in Ireland, EU, EEA or Switzerland Progression: Previous education (participation or attainment) Progression in education – NFQ levels 5-10 Course: Approved full-time courses in approved institutions leading to major awards (prescribed by Minister) ‘Reckonable’ Income: from all sources o Whose income? parents/legal guardians/spouse/cohabitant/civil partner o Thresholds: under €31,500 (Full PG rate of €2,000) under €22,703 (Special Rate of PG rate of €6,270) o Increments for dependent children and relevant persons in education
