2  Situation: Everyone gets into some kind of trouble at one point in their life. Whether it is as a child-taking a cookie out of the cookie jar, or as a teenager rebelling against his/her parent, or even as an adult.  Directions: Think about a time in which you got into trouble. Compose an essay in which you describe how you got into trouble and what happened as a result. Be sure to include details that led up to the event, the event itself, and the final result. 4  Read pages 150-162.  Answer the questions in the margins, as you read.  Complete the irony chart on page 163. Lamb to the Slaughter

5  Review the last two pages.  What is the effect the author intends these scenes to have on the reader? (How did you feel?)  Is his purpose to shock, outrage, or amuse? Find specific details to support your claim (what was his purpose). List at least 3 details from the text to support your claim. Activity

6  Use a dictionary or your phone to look up the roles of defense attorney, prosecutors, jurors, police officers, and expert witnesses in criminal trials.  Write a definition of each of the roles. Trial
