9 How Can Our Clothes Be Made Well? STOP THE TRAFFIK are campaigning for the cotton industry to change from the beginning of the supply chain, with the cotton seeds, to the end at the cut, make and trim stage. Our clothes pass through many, many hands and it is impossible to know if the hands they’ve passed through have been treated well. STOP THE TRAFFIK have created the Make Fashion Traffik-Free Protocol. This protocol asks for: Workers should be over the age of 18, so a child is not producing the clothes we are wearing. Workers to be able to move freely, outside of the mill and the hostels they stay and sleep in, and be able to see their families. Workers to be paid the living wage, so they can live comfortably and well. At all stages, there should be health and safety procedures so workers can do their jobs safely.
