8. Who is eligible for the AB 540 exemption? Non-Resident Tuition Exemption Students that meet both of the following criteria are eligible: Attended a high school in California for three or more years, and Graduate from a California high school, received a High School Equivalency Certificate issued by the California State GED Office, or received a Certificate of Proficiency resulting from the California High School Proficiency Examination. In addition, students who meet these criteria but do not have legal immigration status must certify that they are taking steps to legalize their immigration status or will do so as soon as they are eligible. 9. Admissions Requirements To be considered for admission, students must meet the following criteria: Be a high school graduate, or the equivalent. Complete the fifteen-unit comprehensive “a-g” course pattern of college preparatory study with grades of “C” or better. Earn a qualifying eligibility index (SAT/ACT and GPA).

12. Grade Point Average The high school GPA is based upon grades earned in all approved college preparatory courses taken in the 10 th, 11 th and 12 th grade. Initial decision can be made on 10 th and 11 th grades. CSU will award honors points in the GPA calculation for up to 8 semester courses taken in 10 th, 11 th and 12 th grade. No honors points are awarded for grades of D and F.
