4 Serve the State of California Not an impacted campus FTF are admitted if they meet the following requirements: – Complete “a-g” college prep courses with grade of C or better – Earn an eligibility (SAT/ACT) index score – Applicants with a gpa of 3.00 or above are not required to submit test scores to establish admission eligibility SERVICE REGION & SELECTION PROCESS

5 Transfer Students – Admit Lower Division Transfer Students – Upper Division Transfer Students can be admitted based on courses in progress including the Golden 4 – In progress courses must be completed before the start term – “C” grade or higher required in Golden 4 courses SERVICE REGION & SELECTION PROCESS

6 NOTIFICATION PROCESS Admitted students are notified of status on a Rolling Basis beginning October 15 th through United States mail Applicants will be directed to the university Student Self Service Portal mycsub.edu and assigned an ID number to view their current admissions status

7 APPEAL PROCESS STEP ONE – Applicants should contact their Admissions Evaluator to discuss any admissions decision STEP TWO – Admissions Evaluator will consult with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management for a final admissions decision.

8 TESTING INFORMATION Applicants with a gpa of 3.00 or above are not required to submit SAT or ACT test scores FTF are encouraged to take the SAT or ACT placement test by January of their senior year CSU Bakersfield requires all new students to be tested in English (EPT) and Mathematics (ELM) prior to enrollment unless exempt – Scores will be used for advising and placement purposes

9 NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION All new students are REQUIRED to attend an orientation program Students must pre-register to attend programs - NO ONSITE REGISTRATION Students are allowed to register for courses at orientation FTF students must take the ELM/EPT placement exams BEFORE they will be allowed to attend an orientation program – Students not exempt will be required to participate in the Early Start Program Math ELM below 50, SAT below 550, ACT below 23 English EPT below 147, SAT below 500, ACT below 22 – Unless exempt by SAT, ACT, AP, or EAP scores Pre-advising is mandatory for the School of Natural Science & Math, Eng and Nursing New Student Orientation Program Fee - $35.00

11 IMPORTANT DATES October 1 st – November 30 th - CSU Mentor Application Filing Period October 1 st – March 1 st - CSUB Application Filing Period July 15 th - Final transcripts to Admissions & Records - Students may be dropped if final copies are not received by this date July 1 st - Intent to Enroll form and deposit of $100 - Deposit applied toward registration fees - Refundable up to First Day of Quarter - Students who apply or plan to apply for financial aid can request a waiver
