5  Responsible for all school records.  Sends transcripts electronically & through the mail.  Beginning September 21 st, when you request a transcript through Naviance, she’ll send it and mark the date for you to view when you log in.  Graduation check out-she’ll sign off on your final transcript request & BVW Graduation Survey. If you’d like your test scores sent from BV West, you must visit Mrs. Battista in Room 359 and make the request in person! College Testing

11 Begin looking for outside scholarships in Naviance & internet sites (ex: Cappex.com, Fastweb.com, MeritAid.com) Attend Blue Valley Financial Aid Night in December. Request Mid-year Transcript for Common App & when needed (mid-late January) FAFSA (Free Application for Student Aid) required for all types of financial aid. This is found at www.fafsa.ed.gov.www.fafsa.ed.gov FAFSA should be filed by March 1, 2016 if possible. CCS/Profile – available at collegeboard.org under “Pay for College” – there is a fee (Usually highly selective schools only) Schedule one more on-campus visit for winter or spring to finalize your decision Calendar-Winter

13 Watch mail between March 1 st and April 1 st for college acceptance notifications Watch mail between April 1 st and May 1 st for financial aid awards MAY 1 st is universal date to contact college regarding your acceptance. Let them know where you are going by this date. Send any non-refundable deposits to your chosen school by May 1 st Complete follow up paperwork like housing, etc. Complete BVW Senior Survey to tell us where to send your final transcript Request to send a transcript from JCCC or Baker to transfer any concurrent college credits Send any AP Tests scores to your final college through CollegeBoard.com. Search online for scholarships while you are filling out applications Proofread your essay & resume Assist with filling out the FAFSA Creating a college tuition budget Parents should not: Write your essay!
