2 Less is more? 3.25 million tonnes of clothing and textiles are imported to the UK each year. That equates to approximately 55kg per person. UK consumers send approximately 30kg of clothing and textiles to landfill each year.

3 Case study: ULTRA The company ULTRA have responded to the overconsumption that is often associated with the fashion industry by designing a 10-piece wardrobe for 365 days. ULTRA 10 is made of modular and multifunctional pieces that include a 4-in-1 coat/dress/jacket/skirt and a 2-in-1 jacket/vest. http://weareultra.com/projects /ultra-10/

4 Design and make Design task Design a range of modular and/or multifunctional clothing products aimed at a teenage market. You will be asked to present your design ideas to the ULTRA fashion label.
