1.  This slide show highlights everything you need to know about CORE Academy at Arroyo Valley High School. Presented by : Citlalli Parra-Rivas Project 8- Getting Involved in Your School 02/20/14

2.  A high school student will benefit from participating in CORE Academy because if you join CORE Academy you will have most of your classes (core classes like English Math etc.) with the same people and have a good rapport with your peers and teachers. When you graduate you will have great transcripts for college and a resume with great job skills.

3.  CORE Academy is a group of students, teachers, and business partners that become a family over time. This class is a Cultivating, Organic, Recycling Environmentalist class. In this class you obtain some working skills, for example; architecture, landscape architecture, building retrofitting and alternative energy generation.

4.  A new student can join CORE Academy in Ms. Gallardo's classroom in C-208. You will be given a date to be interviewed.

5.  To be a part of CORE you need to attend all your classes, if you do not attend your classes you will be put in probation until you improve your attendance. There is a CORE meeting every Wednesday after school for you to attend if you choose to be part of the CORE club. To join CORE Academy your grade point average has to be a 2.0 GPA.

7.  CORE Academy has multiple field trips. One of the field trips that the CORE students attended this year was Bolsa Chica Beach. At Bolsa Chica Beach the CORE students did a little bit of cleaning, some group activities, and at the end they had time to enjoy the beach with their peers. There is also hikes that CORE students can attend every month the hike is in a different place every month. During spring break CORE students will be going to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
