2. Friends Anonymous “Grass Roots Giving From the Heart” Our Friends Anonymous chapter is a giving circle whose mission is to provide short–term financial or material support for individuals and families who are unable to meet their needs through conventional programs or channels.

3. Friends Anonymous “Grass Roots Giving From the Heart” Meeting Community Needs Meeting Community Needs FA helps individuals who are “falling through the cracks.” They have short term needs that require a quick turn around. These needs are typically modest in dollar terms--$25 to $300.

4. Friends Anonymous “Grass Roots Giving From the Heart” Community Sponsors Individuals, groups, or organizations who are aware of community needs and are looking for community members who can meet those needs. This includes teachers, counsellors, spiritual leaders, nurses, community workers, etc.

5. Friends Anonymous “Grass Roots Giving From the Heart” Guiding Principles: 1. Anonymity - Giving without recognition or reward 2. Trust- Sponsors do not have to make a case for a need 3. Simple Gifts- A request is filled if any 3 members approve 4. Fill in the Gaps- Gifts are made to those who fall through the cracks 5. Act Quickly- Gifts are made expeditiously (within 24 hours)‏ 6. Bonding and Bridging- Members share the stories of their lives to bridge their differences and create strong bonds 7. Attitude of Gratitude- We are grateful for gifts received from our parents, friends, mentors, families, colleagues, and others we may never know
