2  Graduated in 2005 with a degree in History and Political Science from Texas A&M.  Graduate Level Certificate in Advanced International Affairs from the Bush School (Texas A&M)  Teaching Certificate from Texas State University -- Social Studies Composite  1 st year at Anderson High School About Me

3  This course is designed as an introduction to the origins of Psychology rather than as an in-depth look at any particular area. Students will cover the major psychological theorists, human development, memory, thought, motivation, and the biological basis for behavior. Later in the semester, students will also discover personality theories, psychological disorders, and treatment options.  While students may take the AP exam at the end of the year if they and you decide to, this class is not run at the AP level and is not designed to prepare students for that exam.  Students will occasionally have homework, but most work and learning will be completed in the classroom. Class time will be split between lecturing and participating in activities to demonstrate various aspects of Psychology.  Students will also be asked a great deal of hypothetical and abstract questions in order to aid them in exploring the world of Psychology This year….

4 Important Information  Unit 1 Test will be Next Friday (9/20)  Tests are typically 40-50 multiple choice. On the shorter tests, students will be asked to complete a short answer question.  Students will have the entire block to complete if needed  Powerpoint lectures and homework are posted on my website everyday. If there is a file required to complete the homework, I will attach the file to the assignment online as a spare copy, but all handouts are available in class.  This class does move fast so students need to come to me if they need help or missed a day.
