Signing XML Documents Displayed as Forms An XML echeck could be displayed using XML Parts of the echeck could be displayed as a form, e.g. payto, date, amount, currency There could be a “sign” button to sign the echeck Signing should sign form entries, pre-set data, necessary parts of the style sheet, e.g. legal notice The same mode of operation could be used for many other business documents. Ideally, all browsers, word processors, spreadsheets, mail agents, etc. that use XML documents would have built-in support for “sign” and “verify” buttons. Could select parts of document to be signed Could highlight parts of the document that are verified as signed by others Should be able to cut and paste between signed documents without necessarily breaking the existing signatures
