Input from DS3-T5 Cost and power usage evaluations – Significant overlap with DS4 – merge info into report Cost evaluations for software architecture –Not started: Cambridge will lead; input from LOFAR Technology assessment and road mapping –Good state ; lots of relevant work, needs bringing together

Paul Alexander6 DS3 Deliverable Status 4 th SKADS Workshop, Lisbon, 2-3 October 2008 Original aims –Ease of use of the SKA: observing modes, astronomer interaction –Data archives for the SKA: what is provided to the end user; data volumes etc. –Visualisation tools: for end user astronomers and “telescope operators”; what is available, can the tools cope, do we need a development programme? –What software tools are required for the end user; how are these distributed where is analysis done? Tools for science extraction? Plan for two meetings (combining original 4) First meeting done Will setup discussion on open-access WIKI Second in March 2009 in conjunction with Oxford MCCT workshop DS3-T5: SKA for the User

Specifications and implementation of construct interfaces and components Done; report needs to be delivered Guidelines for platform dependent deployment of control and data handling software Need to consider exactly what we will do here – this is being done Assessment of readiness for scalability and MDA compliance Done and delivered Recommended guidelines for scalable design and implementation Merge into report with MDA compliance – input from LOFAR experience: on track
