Pre Test Write the heading! From p54 in your text, do the Pre Test – 10 min.

Write the heading!

Fill in the worksheet page, Angle RelationshipsAngle Relationships

Paste the sheet into your grid book!

Write the sub heading! Q1-12 (every 2 nd part), Q13-15 (all parts)

Write the heading!

Fill in the worksheet page, Classification of Angles Classification of Angles

Write the sub heading! Q1-10 (ev 2 nd part), Q12.

Write the heading! What do you notice about the following sets of angles? You may need a protractor to check! Theory: (1) ADJACENT ANGLES are angle which are “next to each other”

Theory (continued): (2) If adjacent angles make a right angle, then they are COMPLEMENTARY (add to 90  ) (3) If adjacent angles make a straight angle, then they are SUPPLEMENTARY (add to 180  ) (4) Angles in a revolution sum to 360 o. (5) When two straight lines cross, two pairs of vertically opposite angles are formed. Vertically opposite angles are equal. (6) Perpendicular lines meet at right angle (90 o ). We write AB  CD.

Example 1 Your turn: Exercise 2C Q1-4 (all parts), Q5-10 (every 2 nd part) Q11-12 (all parts)

Write the heading! Use a protractor! Theory: A transversal is a line, intersecting two other lines. Corresponding Angles (F-shaped) When parallel lines are cut by a line, the angles in corresponding positions are EQUAL.

Alternate Angles (Z-shaped) When parallel lines are cut by a line, the angles in alternate positions are EQUAL. Co-interior Angles (C-shaped) When parallel lines are cut by a transversal, the angles in the co-interior positions are SUPPLEMENTARY (add up to 180  ) Example 1

Example 2

Example 3 Your turn: Exercise 2D Q3-6 (all parts), Q7-11 (every 2 nd part) Q12-14 (all parts)

Write the heading!

Example 1 There is often more than one way to solve these questions. Can you think of another way? Your turn: Exercise 2E Q1-2 (all parts) Q3-4 (ev 2 nd part) Extension only Q5,7. Extension for Extension Q9

Parts of a Circle - Theory: Instructions… Draw a circle of radius 3 cm. (if you have a pair of compasses); or trace something round! Draw all the features of a circle listed above
