4 Hispanic Roundtable of South Sound Summit Overview Thirteenth Annual Summit hosted by Centralia College Tuesday, November 17, 2015 Registered 414 students, 11 parents, and 51 educators from 18 schools across five counties – Much higher student & educator registration due to return to weekday – No distinctive “parent program” this year Three main parts to the day – Keynote speech “Opening doors,” Francisco Valero-Cuevas, Ph.D., Department of Biomedical Engineering, University of Southern California – Exhibitor fair with local community organizations, colleges and universities – More than 49 student/parent workshops; CE credit workshops for educators Pre-survey administered at registration to collect demographic data Post-survey administered after the Summit to determine impact 4 Latino Youth Summit 2015 Review

5 Hispanic Roundtable of South Sound Registration Data Summary Five counties represented with Thurston providing the most attendees (148) and Pacific providing the fewest (5) Returning and first time participants* – Shelton notable for most first-time (61), most returning (30), most overall – Aberdeen notable for most distance traveled, second most students registered (49) – Hoquiam and Rochester more than 40% returning participants Of concern – Only 33% of students are knowledgeable of having access to a Latino club on campus *Per school participation details in Supplemental Information 5 Latino Youth Summit 2015 Review
