2  A heart attack is when a blood clot cuts off most or all of blood supply to the heart.

4  Symptoms of a heart attack is when a person has pain in the left arm, that radiates to the shoulder.  Pain or discomfort in other areas of the upper body including the arms, left shoulder, back, neck, jaw, or stomach.  Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath  Sweating or “cold sweat”  Fullness, indigestion, or choking feeling (may feel like “heartburn”)

5 Treatments for The Heart Attack  cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)  automated external defibrillator (AED)  cardiac drugs  insertion of endotracheal breathing tubes  reperfusion therapy includes drugs that dissolve clots, balloon angioplasty, or surgery  thrombolysis is a procedure that involves an injection of a clot-dissolving agent such as streptokinase, urokinase, or tissue plasminogen activator  percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty or coronary artery bypass graft surgery
