AD TE/EPC : removal old power supplies completed in the AD hall. TE/VSC : – UHM3107 and UVM3207 tanks : seals installation next week. – Ion pump change in still progress until early September. TE/MSC : BHN06: new CERN visit to manufacturer for first coil test this week. Waiting for feedback before final decision. An ultimate planning has been prepared, with delivery of the coils mid of October. In case of additional delay, the plan-B would consist in repairing BHN23 or 24. TE/ABT : – Provisional gasket installed for leak test in the workshop (TE/VSC). – Delay for the 2 KFI tanks reinstallation, fixed on 18/10 (compatible with the revised bake-out planning). BE/BI + TE/VSC – Replacement of MTV screen re-scheduled in week 39 and 40. GS/ASE : – Equipment for the new access point being delivered in the AD-hall. – A decision has been recently taken to first install a platform and consequently raise the access point by about 10 cm. So some delay in the planning, but not critical. Girder line 7000: manufacturing of the first 3 vacuum chamber in progress at CERN 30/08/2013 LSC - S. Baird, M. Bernardini 2 Power supplies removed in AD hall Access devices delivered

LEIR BE/BI: – Degasing tests in progress for the MTV screens (by TE/VSC). – Intervention on the 2 BIPM (Beam Ionisation Profile Monitor) on vacuum sector 5 still in preparation (waiting for new MCP cards). TE/MSC : – Repair of DHV12 encounters some difficulties, but could be fixed. – Installation back in the machine on October the 1 st is still expected. GS/ASE : – New access point being tested, on service week 37. 30/08/2013LSC - S. Baird, M. Bernardini3 Vertical BIPM

PS Done – PS PSS Safety and Access System Installation : Doors from buildings 352 and 353 to the PS tunnel are now operational In Progress – CV Consolidation program: racks delivered, cabling and piping progressing well – The Septum 16 External Shielding program: work of 29 piles installations is on-going – EN-EL cabling campaign in progress – General equipment maintenance is going on: BI, RF cavities 10 MHz, beam stoppers (EN-STI) – Outside PS tunnel, chilled water campaign: Asbestos removal Building 355 Forecast – Access system installation 30/08/2013LSC - S. Baird, M. Bernardini4 Valves installation on chilled water New PS access system Installation of piles

PSB In progress – PSB beam dump replacement project on schedule. The old beam dump has been successfully removed and transported to the ISR radioactive storage facility. Careful extraction of the 5 shielding blocks successfully completed. Restricted access to the PSB Machine during the extraction period. – CV consolidation and maintenance of CV, kickers, Septa, vacuum beam instrumentation, Magnet and Beam stopper, cabling campaign. – Replacement of PSB ring 32A electrical power sockets. – Installation of new cable trays under the false floor. New issue about the new installed BLM cables: non conformities outlined during the test campaign. Solution under study. Completed. – Integration testing of the new PPS (access) system Forecast – Installation of the public address cables & infrastructure – Replacement of the BI.SMH under preparation. Work and dose planning under preparation. 28/08/2013LSC - S. Baird5

SPS BA1 Irradiated cable campaign – The removal of the 2 shielding walls in LSS1 started on Monday of this week. Complete by the end of next week (as planned) – Installation of the new fibre optics systems will start on September 9 th A big thank you to all teams involved! *Identification of the cables has to be done during the coming month. If they are not identified by the equipment owners, then they will be removed and not replaced!
