1 Organization of classroom and materials: Classroom should have learning inspiring environment with the following features Students’ desks arranged so that the instructor and them see each other and the main instructional area. Enough space on the dry erase board to write objectives of the day’s lesson and bell work problems. Easily accessible frequently used materials and student supplies. High traffic area like areas near pencil sharpener, wastebasket, doorways, bookshelves free of congestion. Classroom rules display easily seen. Student activity centers should have special equipment such as tape-recorder with head phone, area rug, a small table, and comfortable seating.

3 Effective classroom learning through applying basic norms of behavior during classroom….. like a “school bus” following basic rules of driving Beginning of the class: Coming to the classroom quietly with the necessary materials, submitting assignments in the designated areas, and sitting in assigned seats. During class: Polite and respectful language and behavior with classmates and teacher, raising hands to ask questions and wait patiently to be asked. After class: Waiting to be dismissed by the teacher, cleaning up and moving to the next period. Miscellaneous: No talking and leaving desks during public address announcements, policies of accessing special equipment like computers, calculators, procedures for fire and disaster drill.

4 Monitoring student work Helping students becoming responsible and independent learners Record keeping of daily homework, quiz, and test grades and then entering grades on a secure website. Communicating with students the procedure of grading and percentage of each component in grading. Grading students for homework completion, neat work, correctness, class participation and participation in group activities. Assignments accepted late only one time. 24 hour extension for make up assignment. Monitoring long term projects on a periodic basis. Accessibility by students and their parents to grades through a website.
