Learning Targets I will be able to define Attitude, affirmations, and visualizations. I will learn how attitude, affirmations, and visualizations can effect my performance. I will brainstorm different ways to improve my attitude and positive affirmations and visualizations.

Attitudes and affirmations, and visualizations You are awesome sauce!

Attitude “We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude. I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it. And so it is with you... we are in charge of our Attitudes.” ― Charles R. Swindoll

Attitude Attitude (noun): manner, disposition, feeling, position, with regard to a person or thing; tendency or orientation, especially of the mind.

Affirmation Affirmation (noun): is a statement describing what you want.

Visualization Visualization (verb): the technique of seeing yourself being successful.

Using affirmations and visualizations to help your attitude. You can use affirmations to change your attitude about anything. The most effective affirmations are… Personal Positive Written in present tense Detailed 1.Determine what you want. 2.Describe yourself as if you already have it. 3.Repeat this affirmation verbally and in a written form.

Using affirmations and visualizations to help your attitude. You can combine affirmations with visualizations. 1.Choose what you want to improve. 2.Then describe in writing what it would look like, sound like, and feel like to have that improvement in your life. 3.Once you have a clear image, practice it in your imagination.

Now What? Answer the following 3 questions on a piece of notebook paper. When finished turn it in. 1.Pick something in your you would like to change. (It can be anything). Write a brief description of what you choose to change. (1-2 sentences). (I would like to find more time to exercise.) 2.Add more details about the change you described. Write down how you would like the change to happen. (I used to go to the gym 3 times a week, but my hours are much longer these days. ) 3.Write at least 2 affirmations that describe your change. (“I can wake up early to work out!” or “I can walk the dog before work!”)
