8 APPENDIX T THE NSW COASTAL POLICY-CATHERINE HILL BAY SECTION 1.4.5 COASTAL HAZARDS AND DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS “ cliff stability assessment prepared for Catherine Hill Bay” Assessment undertaken by RCA in June 2004, did not include a walkway and said that any building should be set back at least 10 metres from the cliff.

10 In 1987 the then owner of the Wallarah Peninsula freehold,,Coal &Allied in its Environmental Impact Statement for expansion of its facilities in CHB confirmed 1.The land was considered to be valuable open space. 2.It was strategically important to retain the rural and undeveloped character of the land 3.On completion of surface rehabilitation the emplacement areas would be managed to become part of the open space and natural areas surrounding Catherine Hill Bay in accordance with planning objectives for the Region in the Hunter Valley Regional Plan and Lake Macquarie zoning
