7 Social Innovation/Social Enterprise Culture New ideas (products, services & models) that simultaneously meet social needs (more effectively than alternatives) & create new social relationships or collaborations. Extends and strengthens civil society Stakeholders: public, private, 3rd sector, government, academics, citizens and communities, local and regional authorities, development agencies etc. “The financial & economic crisis makes creativity & innovation in general & social innovation in particular even more important to foster sustainable growth, secure jobs & boost competitiveness” EU President Borroso 2009
