6 Minimum standards: minimum levels to be attained in humanitarian response Key actions: suggested activities and inputs to help meet standards. Key indicators: ‘signals’ that standard achieved Guidance notes: specific points to consider when applying the minimum standards

7 Good humanitarian practice… Prevents or relieves human suffering Is provided proportional to need Is impartial and independent Respects the diversity, rights and dignity of others Is accountable to supporters and beneficiaries Is flexible and appropriate to context Facilitates participation of affected groups Strives to reduce future vulnerability Promotes self-reliance and local response capacity
