2. The Grand Canyon is not the biggest canyon in the world but it is knew around the world for its extremely big size and its colorful landscape. The Grand Canyon was first a Federal protection in 1893 as a Forest Reserve and later as a National Monument, Grand Canyon did not achieve National Park status until 1919.

3. The Grand Canyon was formed mainly as a result of the erosive activity of the Colorado River. Certain other forces like the continental drift and the Earth's orbit contributed to the creation of the Grand Canyon.

4. Four Thousand feet below the rim you can find igneous and metamorphic rocks known as the Vishnu Group. Other rocks are Kaibab Limestone, Tapes sandstone, and Redwall linestone.
