Appeasement: European nations allowed Germany and Japan to gain territory in hopes of avoiding a war. Lend Lease: This program provided weapons to Great Britain, while keeping the United States out of the War.

Pacific Theatre: This refers to the battles and military action against Japan in Asia. Island Hopping: This refers to the strategy of selectively capturing islands that get closer to Japan.

15 Midway Where : Midway Island in the Pacific Ocean. Outcome: The United States sunk 4 Japanese aircraft carriers and prevented an invasion of Midway Island.
