You copy a paper from the Internet, put your name on it and turn it in as if you wrote it. You buy a term paper or essay written by someone else and attempt to use it as your own. Paraphrasing materials without correctly attributing the source or research text.

E D U C A T I O N A L T E C H N O L O G Y U N I T CAD Introduction: PlagScan PlagScan: a valuable tool for encouraging original writing and proper citation practices within your course; It can be integrated into Moodle as a plug in; It compares students’ work with sources on the Internet; PlagScan is not very effective, but does find a few sources; It is only marginally useful for academic purposes.

The Plag Level is a rough estimate of how much content within a document is plagiarized. PlagScan calculates the percentage of plagiarized content. Plag Level does not indicate if the content has been quoted and cited correctly.
