2  You must start a new paragraph with a new idea.  A paragraph should not be longer than ½ a page.

3 Topic Sentence-tells the reader what your paragraph is about. Formula-a specific topic + a particular feeling or feature about the topic Example: The huge sculpture known as the Great Sphinx prompts feelings of awe and curiosity from visitors. Body Sentences Closing Sentence

4  A complete sentence includes: Capital Letter Subject Predicate Complete Thought Terminal Punctuation

5  Terminal punctuation is the punctuation at the end of a sentence.  A sentence is incomplete if it doesn’t contain terminal punctuation.  Three types of terminal punctuation: Period (.) Question Mark (?) Exclamation Point (!)

6  You need to capitalize all your proper nouns. I is a proper noun.  For example:  My mom told me I needed to clean my room-correct.  My mom told me i needed to clean my room-incorrect.  You are important. Capitalize yourself!

7  When you come to the end of a complete thought, put a period at the end of your sentence.  If you have two lines of writing without a period, go back and look. Chances are, you need a period.  Please ask me if you’re not sure where you need to end your sentence.  Complete thought (Always put a period at the end of your sentence).
