Venus Project - Next steps The three unions should prepare a document (in English) concerning the respective situation of Internet banking (or remote channels distribution), in terms of: –Number of institutions involved, kind of services offered, organizational model …. –Implications for workers (skills, qualifications, working conditions, regulations ….) These documents will be discussed during the October meeting Aim: to compare the current situation occurring in the partners’ countries and the effects for TUs.

3. Venus Project - Next steps (2) FABI will also prepare a summary concerning Banca Idea and its parent bank (Banca Popolare di Vicenza). This summary will be sent to the partners, by the end of September 2000 Aim: to know in advance the situation of the bank that will be analysed more in depth in October.

4. Venus Project - Next steps (3) In October 2000 the participants will visit Banca Idea and meet the management in order to have a first look on the company’s organization. An analysis of the main departments will be done, then a simulation environment will unable the participants to work directly through the company’s Information System A further visit could be arranged in a large call center based in Milan Aim: to improve the knowledge of TUs on practical aspects of VB operations, in order to give the unionists the possibility to plan joint appropriate initiatives
