3 3/12/20163 Monday, September 22, 2008 Check in – pick up a packet off the projector and begin reading the story called “Coffee Pot” (It’s on the 2 nd page!) –Underline spots where snapshots/showing sentences could be added –Write some showing sentences of your own on the same page (at the bottom)

6 Tuesday, September 23, 2008 You will need sticky notes today Check in – Silent read a Scope Magazine on the desks. These are a classroom set, so please do not write on them! Have one person pick up your table folders. Popcorn read the article on pages 14-15 –Discuss as a class any initial reactions –What does the word “dubious” mean (Tip 9) With a partner read the double-sided handout about Cyber Bullying –With your sticky notes track any/all connections –You need at least one T-T, one T-S, and one T-W connection –As a class discuss any connections you came up with –Journal on a ½ sheet of paper: 1.Have you ever witnessed or been a part of a type of cyber bullying? Explain. (You do not have to give names.) 2.How would you feel if you were the student who was being threatened to be killed, or the student “voted off” and being considered in the “top 5 hated kids” ???? 3.Turn in your journal 6

7 Tuesday, September 23, 2008 (Continued) After discussions/journal on Cyber Bullying… You need your MEAP practice packets in your folders Individually, turn 10 pages FROM THE BACK to the page titled “Revising and Editing the Student Writing Sample” Read the writing example and answer the 5 questions that follow. Teacher will explain the error on #1. Read and answer silently Once everyone is finished, if time, discuss answers –Teacher will explain the correct answers Free time if time left over! 3/12/20167
