3.  Two types of risk assessment are used  Actuarial Tools (collecting historical data about the offender – age of offence, number of convictions, history of substance abuse, etc.)  Clinical Judgement (based on the opinion of psychologists and psychiatrists who assess the offender)  Based on the classification, a correctional plan will be designed to support the inmate’s reintegration into the community.
