3. NU 499 Capstone Assignment Due Dates: All weekly assignments are due on Tuesdays at 11:59. If you are having any problems with understanding course assignments or are having difficulty with meeting course deadlines you must contact me AHEAD of time NOT after the assignments are due. I am very generous with working with all of you but I need you to communicate with me AHEAD of time if there are issues that need my assistance. No work will be accepted a week past its due date and points will be deducted for each day work is late per the KU course policy without notifying me AHEAD of time

NU499 Capstone Seminars: For this course seminars will be held as a phone conference and/or as a traditional computer seminar Our first course orientation PHONE seminar will be on Wednesday June 8th at 6:00pmEST. Our second course PHONE seminar will be on Thursday June 9th at 6:00pm EST Our third course orientation seminar will be held as a traditional seminar via the computer on Friday June 10th at 6:00pm EST For phone conference seminar You will need to: Call into 1-8773984411 access code 954-885-0000 on the night you plan to attend. We will begin at 6:00pm EST sharp. You choose which night you would like to attend or feel free to come to both.

NU 499 Capstone Course Overview/Outline in DOC Sharing 4- Discussions Required (weeks 1,2,3 &10 ) 3- Learning Journals 1-2 pages due in weeks 2,4 & 6 3- Nursing Papers due unit 3,unit 5 & unit 8 2- Seminars- Weeks 1 orientation to course, week 5 “checking in” Presentations in Weeks 8 & 9 Required to present!! Clinical hours 40/20

7. NU499 Capstone Discussion Question: Initial DB posting must be made by Friday (day 3), and then on 2 other days. You must used a cited reference with initial post of 150 words

NU 499 Capstone PROJEST FOCUS / NURSING ISSUE Must be a nursing issue !!!!!!!here are some ideas(:>) Meeting specifc Core measures, national safety goals, nurse burn out, retention/recruitment, residency programs,report,primary care, team leading, improving triage system, patient to nurse ratios Apply the nursing process: Assessment, data collection, intervention evaluation, implementation??? Use research to support your ideas.

10. NU 499 Capstone Nursing Issue Paper 1: Due in Week 3: 2-3 pages in length Focus is on: Describe your chosen project issue What is your plan using evidence based research? In relation to this issue, integrate theory and knowledge from past courses, work background & experience

11. NU 499 Capstone Nursing Issue Paper Part 2 Due in week 5 3-4 pages in length (not 2- 3pages) Focus is on: Literature review You must use 8-10 scholarly references within the last 5 years

12. NU 499 Capstone Nursing Issue Paper Part 3 Due in week 8 2-3 pages in length Focus is on: Solution, Communication Strategies and dissemination of information
