1 Good Stewards 1 Peter 4:10 The Lord has given us many responsibilities for which we will give account to Him on the last day

2 Popular Thinking Today
I can think any way that I please I can live my life any way that I choose I can use my body any way that I desire I can spend my money any way that I want I can believe the Bible teaches whatever I desire

3 Introduction But as Christians, we dare not fall into such destructive thinking The concept of being a good steward should help us understand that it is the Lord who has given us life and all things temporarily And, one day, we will have to give an account whether we chose to behave according to His will or not

4 Good Stewards What is a steward? Characteristics of a good steward
In what areas are we to be good stewards?

5 What Is A Steward? 1. oikonomos
(G3623) primarily denoted "the manager of a household or estate" (oikos, "a house," nemo, "to arrange"), "a steward" (such were usually slaves or freedmen), From Vine’s Complete Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words

6 Good Stewards Must Be Responsible
Luk 12:42 And the Lord said, "Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time?

7 Good Stewards Must Be Faithful or Trustworthy
1Co 4:1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1Co 4:2 In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

8 Good Stewards Must Be Ready To Give Account To Their Master
Luk 12:43 "Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. Luk 12:45 "But if that slave says in his heart, 'My master will be a long time in coming,' and begins to beat the slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk;

9 Good Stewards Must Be Ready To Give Account To Their Master
Luk 12:46 the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers.

10 In What Areas Are We To Be Good Stewards?
In the largest sense, all of our service to God is based on stewardship As slaves of Christ, we are entrusted with all responsibilities of Christians to think, feel and live according to His Word knowing one day we will give account to Him Specifically, the Scriptures do mention various areas in which we are to behave as good stewards

11 Generally Our Entire Service To God Is A Matter of Stewardship
1Pe 4:10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

12 How We Become Christians, Stewards, Slaves of Christ
Rom 6:17 But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, Rom 6:18 and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness.

13 How We Become Christians, Stewards, Slaves of Christ
Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so that grace may increase? Rom 6:2 May it never be! How shall we who died to sin still live in it?

14 How We Become Christians, Stewards, Slaves of Christ
Rom 6:3 Or do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus have been baptized into His death? Rom 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.

15 Spiritual Talents 1Pe 4:10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

16 Spiritual Talents 1Pe 4:11 Whoever speaks, is to do so as one who is speaking the utterances of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

17 Spiritual Talents Mat 25:14 "For it is just like a man about to go on a journey, who called his own slaves and entrusted his possessions to them. Mat 25:15 "To one he gave five talents, to another, two, and to another, one, each according to his own ability; and he went on his journey.

18 Spiritual Talents Mat 25:20 "The one who had received the five talents came up and brought five more talents, saying, 'Master, you entrusted five talents to me. See, I have gained five more talents.' Mat 25:21 "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.'

19 Spiritual Talents Mat 25:26 "But his master answered and said to him, 'You wicked, lazy slave, you knew that I reap where I did not sow and gather where I scattered no seed. Mat 25:27 'Then you ought to have put my money in the bank, and on my arrival I would have received my money back with interest.

20 Body 1Co 6:18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. 1Co 6:19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 1Co 6:20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

21 Body Rom 12:1 Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.

22 Body Mar 12:32 The scribe said to Him, "Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that HE IS ONE, AND THERE IS NO ONE ELSE BESIDES HIM; Mar 12:33 AND TO LOVE HIM WITH ALL THE HEART AND WITH ALL THE UNDERSTANDING AND WITH ALL THE STRENGTH, AND TO LOVE ONE'S NEIGHBOR AS HIMSELF, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."

23 Body Mar 12:34 When Jesus saw that he had answered intelligently, He said to him, "You are not far from the kingdom of God." After that, no one would venture to ask Him any more questions.

24 Body Rom 6:11 Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Rom 6:12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,

25 Body Rom 6:13 and do not go on presenting the members of your body to sin as instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves to God as those alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.

26 Body 2Ti 2:20 Now in a large house there are not only gold and silver vessels, but also vessels of wood and of earthenware, and some to honor and some to dishonor. 2Ti 2:21 Therefore, if anyone cleanses himself from these things, he will be a vessel for honor, sanctified, useful to the Master, prepared for every good work.

27 Body 2Ti 2:22 Now flee from youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart.

28 Good Stewards What is a steward? Characteristics of a good steward
In what areas are we to be good stewards?

29 Generally Our Entire Service To God Is A Matter of Stewardship
1Pe 4:10 As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

30 All Material Things Act 4:24 And when they heard this, they lifted their voices to God with one accord and said, "O Lord, it is You who MADE THE HEAVEN AND THE EARTH AND THE SEA, AND ALL THAT IS IN THEM,

31 All Material Things Jas 1:17 Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

32 All Material Things 1Ch 29:10 So David blessed the LORD in the sight of all the assembly; and David said, "Blessed are You, O LORD God of Israel our father, forever and ever. 1Ch 29:11 "Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, indeed everything that is in the heavens and the earth; Yours is the dominion, O LORD, and You exalt Yourself as head over all.

33 All Material Things 1Ch 29:12 "Both riches and honor come from You, and You rule over all, and in Your hand is power and might; and it lies in Your hand to make great and to strengthen everyone.

34 All Material Things Eph 4:28 He who steals must steal no longer; but rather he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need.

35 All Material Things 1Ti 5:8 But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.

36 All Material Things Gal 6:6 The one who is taught the word is to share all good things with the one who teaches him. Gal 6:7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, this he will also reap.

37 All Material Things Gal 6:8 For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Gal 6:9 Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.

38 All Material Things Gal 6:10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.

39 All Material Things 2Co 9:6 Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 2Co 9:7 Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

40 All Material Things 2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed; 2Co 9:9 as it is written, "HE SCATTERED ABROAD, HE GAVE TO THE POOR, HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS ENDURES FOREVER."

41 All Material Things 2Co 9:10 Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;

42 The Gospel 1Co 4:1 Let a man regard us in this manner, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. 1Co 4:2 In this case, moreover, it is required of stewards that one be found trustworthy.

43 The Gospel 2Ti 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth. 2Ti 2:16 But avoid worldly and empty chatter, for it will lead to further ungodliness,

44 The Gospel 2Ti 2:17 and their talk will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, 2Ti 2:18 men who have gone astray from the truth saying that the resurrection has already taken place, and they upset the faith of some.

45 The Gospel Tit 1:9 holding fast the faithful word which is in accordance with the teaching, so that he will be able both to exhort in sound doctrine and to refute those who contradict.

46 The Gospel Act 20:29 "I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; Act 20:30 and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them.

47 The Gospel Act 20:31 "Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears. Act 20:32 "And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

48 The Gospel Mat 28:19 "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, Mat 28:20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

49 The Gospel 2Ti 2:2 The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

50 Souls of A Local Church Act 20:28 "Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.

51 Souls of A Local Church Tit 1:7 For the overseer must be above reproach as God's steward, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not addicted to wine, not pugnacious, not fond of sordid gain, Heb 13:17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls as those who will give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with grief, for this would be unprofitable for you.

52 Children Psa 127:3 Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Psa 127:4 Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one's youth. Psa 127:5 How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them; They will not be ashamed When they speak with their enemies in the gate.

53 Children Eph 6:4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

54 Children 2Ti 1:5 For I am mindful of the sincere faith within you, which first dwelt in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice, and I am sure that it is in you as well.

55 Children 2Ti 3:14 You, however, continue in the things you have learned and become convinced of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 2Ti 3:15 and that from childhood you have known the sacred writings which are able to give you the wisdom that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

56 Children 1Ti 3:4 He must be one who manages his own household well, keeping his children under control with all dignity 1Ti 3:5 (but if a man does not know how to manage his own household, how will he take care of the church of God?),

57 Children Tit 1:6 namely, if any man is above reproach, the husband of one wife, having children who believe, not accused of dissipation or rebellion.
