7. Who are Ahlul Kisaa?
Ahlul Kisaa consist of Ali, Fatima, Al-Hasan, and Al-Husain, who joined the Prophet under a mantle (a Yemeni cover). It took place at:
Umm Salama’s house.
Some claim it happened again at A'isha's house, and
Others claim it happened again at Fatima's house.
Ayah of Tat’heer was revealed on their behalf.
In this event the Prophet specified Ahlul Bayt, and prayed for them

8. This was said after the above Ayah was revealed.
Ahlul Kisaa
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ اللَّهُ لِيُذْهِبَ عَنكُمُ الرِّجْسَ أَهْلَ الْبَيْتِ وَيُطَهِّرَكُمْ تَطْهِيرًا
“Verily, Allah has decreed to purify you, O' Ahlul Bayt, and sanctify you in a perfect way”
According to A'isha, Ayah of Tat'heer (Purification) was revealed on behalf of Fatima, Ali, Al‑Hasan, and Al‑Husain.
It came to be known as Ahlul Kisaa, or the people of the mantle. At Umm Salama’s house the Prophet declared after having Fatima, Ali, Al-Hasan and Al-Husain with him under a mantle that united him, by saying:
“Dear Lord! this is my Ahlul Bayt, I implore Thee to sanctifying them, and remove from them all impurities.”
This was said after the above Ayah was revealed.

9. About Ahlul Kisaa
They came to be endearingly known as “The five under the mantle”   خمسه تحت الكساء  . They were five:
Muhammad,
Ali,
Fatima,
Al‑Hasan, and
Al‑Husain
It is narrated through Anas Ibn Malik that for six months following this Ayah's revelation, every morning (while going for Fajr Salat), the Prophet used to knock at the door of Fatima's house and loudly recite Ayah of Tat'heer. 
Other sources say the Prophet (pbuh) did so for 9 months rather than 6.

10. Occasion of Mubaahala
A deputation of a Patriarch with 20 Christian dignitaries, set out to Medina to find out about Islam. Their questions about the Messiah Jesus (a.s.), his birth, his mother, and whether he was crucified or resurrected were answered by the Prophet
The Christians were baffled and amazed, even bewildered. 
Since an Ayah for Mubaahala, (a challenge with a Du'aa), had been revealed to the Prophet, he suggested doing so
A Mubaahala is a spiritual contest, it means that each of the two groups would pray to the Almighty asking for His damnation on those who are false (telling lies). 
If Mubaahala were done, and Prophet Muhammad was saying the truth, then Allah would doom the Christian group and whatever Allah chooses to do to them would come to be! 
The Patriarch agreed to the Mubaahala, and it was to be done at a certain place and time.

11. Ahlul Bayt and the Occasion of Al-Mubaahala
فَمَنْ حَآجَّكَ فِيهِ مِن بَعْدِ مَا جَاءكَ مِنَ الْعِلْمِ فَقُلْ تَعَالَوْاْ نَدْعُ أَبْنَاءنَا وَأَبْنَاءكُمْ وَنِسَاءنَا وَنِسَاءكُمْ وَأَنفُسَنَا وأَنفُسَكُمْ ثُمَّ نَبْتَهِلْ فَنَجْعَل لَّعْنَةُ اللّهِ عَلَى الْكَاذِبِينَ
“....then reply [O' Muhammad]: Let us call upon our children and your children, our ladies and your ladies, ourselves and yourselves,
then we pray so that Allah's wrath be upon those who are false.”
For the Mubaahala: The Ayah said: Our children —and Muhammad took Al‑Hasan and Al‑Husain;
The Ayah said: Our ladies —and Muhammad took his daughter Fatima;
The Ayah said: Ourselves —and Muhammad took Ali as if Ali was the self of the Prophet.

12. They withdrew from Mubaahala
Upon seeing Muhammad along with his family for the contest, the Patriarch was startled!
Taken aback he hurriedly consulted with his colleagues. 
They reasoned that Muhammad was telling the truth, otherwise he wouldn’t have brought the closest people to him for the Mubaahala. 
Therefore for Muhammad to call upon Allah would bring the ruin and damnation upon them.
Having thus concluded, the Patriarch came forth with a look of relief. 
He acknowledged to Muhammad and opted for immediate withdrawal from the Mubaahala! 
The Patriarch also said: “If it weren't for my obligations with the Emperor I would have right away changed to Islam!”

13. Ahlul Bayt and The Occasion of Hadith Al-Thaqalain: حديث الثـقلين
While quoted in various formats, by more than 20 Sahaaba, and due to its importance, this Hadith was declared on at least 5 occasions:
Farewell Haj during the Prophet's Farewell Speech,
Ghadeer Khum,
After leaving Ta'if,
At his minbar (pulpit) in Medina, and
Even just before he died, in his room full of Companions.
The Hadith was a lot like a unique Will by the Prophet (pbuh). 
It was a unique legacy to leave after he was gone from this world; The Prophet specified two precious matters.
The Quran as most valuable asset to mankind, and
Ahlul Bayt, as the second most important asset he was to leave.

14. Ahlul Bayt and Hadith Al-Thaqalain: حديث الثـقلين
إني أوشك أن أدعى فأجيب، وإني تارك فيكم الثقلين: كتاب الله عز وجل وعترتي،
— كتاب الله حبل ممدود من السماء الى الارض، وعترتي أهل بيتي—
وإن اللطيف الخبير أخبرني أنهما لن يفترقا حتى يردا علي الحوض،
 فانظروا كيف تخلفوني فيهما
The Prophet address his followers: O' People! I am about to be called upon [by the Most High] and so I will soon be leaving you. I will bequeath you two most precious matters. They are:
The book of Allah, as a cord extended from heaven to earth, and
My Itra [family], Ahlul Bayt.
Allah, the Benevolent and the All-Knowing has informed me that these two will be inseparable (from each other) till they reach me at the Pool of Blessings in Heaven. See then, O' people, how well you are to deal with them after I depart [from this world]

15. The Means to Salvation: سفينه النجاه
ألا أن مثل أهل بيتي فيكم   مثل سفينه نوح،
من ركبها نجا  ومن تخلف عـنها غـرق
Behold! The similitude of my family, Ahlul Bayt,
is like that of the Ark of Noah:
The one who embarks it, will have saved himself, and
the one who turns away from it, is doomed.

16. Commentary: The Means to Salvation: سفـــــينه النـــجاه
This was a nice figurative simile, referring to Ahlul Bayt as the means to our salvation,
for they will show the correct interpretation of the Quran, and the authentic Sunnah. 
Known for their pureness and piety, (and by virtue of their unparalleled knowledge of Islam), they become like the gracious vessel in which rests our spiritual salvation. 
The Prophet (pbuh) reminds us that when we listen to the teaching of Ahlul Bayt and follow their directions, we will be saved, because theirs is the correct teachings, i.e., reflecting his own teachings.
The Prophet foresaw his family's toil for Islam though most of them were as yet not born.

17. The Occasion Ghadeer Khum: الغدير
It was the 18th of Dhul Hijjah, and the Prophet (pbuh) along with about 100,000 participants in the Haj were on their way home. They had left Mecca a few days back, having finished the Farewell Haj. It was summer, very hot, the blazing sun taking its toll. The place was Juh’fa,
Juh'fa was a convergence place for several highways leading north, south, east, and west.
At noontime the Prophet (pbuh) received a remarkable revelation, and it was so powerful that the Prophet (pbuh) was obliged to stop the people from marching; and
He asked them to gather for the announcement; even calling back those who had already left for home. It was an urgent matter. The revelation (called Ayah of Tableegh آيه التبليغ) commanded:

18. The Occasion Ghadeer Khum: الغدير
يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِن رَّبِّكَ وَإِن لَّمْ تَفْعَلْ فَمَا بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالَتَهُ وَاللّهُ يَعْصِمُكَ مِنَ النَّاسِ إِنَّ اللّهَ لاَ يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الْكَافِرِينَ
“O' Messenger!  Declare what has been revealed to you, and if you do not, then your works will not have been fully declared.
And Allah will protect you from [the harm of] people.
This was followed by delivering Ghadeer Khum Pronouncement in regard to Ali
Then the revelation الْيَوْمَ أَكْمَلْتُ لَكُمْ دِينَكُمْ وَأَتْمَمْتُ عَلَيْكُمْ نِعْمَتِي وَرَضِيتُ لَكُمُ الإِسْلاَمَ دِينًا took place: It said:
“To-day I have completed for you the religion, and favored you with My bounty, and accepted Islam for you as the religion

19. The Pronouncement at Ghadeer Khum: الغدير
من كنت مولاه، فهذا علي مولاه
اللهم وآلِ من ولآه، وعاد من عاداه، وانصر من نصره، واخذل من خذل
وأدر الحق معه حيثما دار
In addressing the crowds of the Muslims the Prophet (pbuh) said:
O' People, he who takes me as his Mowla (Authority), so this Ali, is his (Mowla) Authority.
O' Lord!
Support him who supports Ali and Detest him who detests Ali
Favor him who favors Ali and Oppose him who opposes Ali,
And Let the Truth be with Ali wherever Ali goes.

21. The Prophet about Ahlul Bayt
إلـزمـوا مـودتـنـــا أهـل الـبــيـت،
 فإنه من لقـي الله وهـو يـودنـا، دخـل الجــنه بـشــفاعـتــنا،
والذي نـفــسي بـيــده لا يـنــفـع عــبـداً إلا بـحــقـنا
For the love and acknowledgment of the rights of Ahlul Bayt the Prophet (pbuh) remarked:
[O People!] Hold on to the love of Ahlul Bayt,
for he who so meets his Creator as our friend
shall enter Paradise through our intersession.
By the Lord, Most Glorious,
no one's good deeds can benefit him unless
he acknowledges our rights.

22. The Prophet about Ahlul Bayt
مـعــرفـه آل مـحــمد بـراءه مـن النــار
وحــب آل محــمد جـوآز على الـصـــراط
والــولايــه لآل محــمد أمــان من النـــار
Acknowledgement of Aali Muhammad means salvation from Hellfire:
The love of Aali Muhammad is an easy pass for
crossing the Bridge [on Judgment Day]
and obedience to Aali Muhammad is a protection from
Doom's Day.

23. The Prophet about Ali
من أراد أن يـحــيا حـيــاتي، ويـمــوت مـوتي، ويـســكن جـنه الخـلد التي وعــدني ربـي،
فـلـيـتــولَ علي بن أبي طـــــالب،
فإنه لن يخـــرجـكم من هــدى ولـن يدخـــلكم في ضـــــلاله
Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has declared about Ali:
Whoever wishes to live as I [Muhammad] have lived, and
die as I will die, and
enter the Garden of Eternal Bliss (which Allah has promised to me):
Let him take Ali as his Wali (Supreme Master)
Because Ali will never lead you out of the Path of the Truth, nor will he take you into error.

24. The Prophet about Fatima
The Messenger of Allah said: "The best of women of Paradise are: Khadijah Bint Khuwaylid, Fatima Bint Muhammad, Asia Bint Muzahim (Pharaoh's wife) and Maryam Bint Imraan.“
حسبك من نساء العالمين مريم بنت عمران، وخديجة بنت خويلد، وفاطمة بنت محمد، وآسية امرأة فرعون... وأفضلهنّ فاطمة
A'isha Bint Talha quoted A'isha wife of the Prophet saying:
"I have not seen anyone more similar to the Messenger in speech and dialogue than Fatima. Whenever she entered the house, he would greet her, kiss her hands and ask her to sit near him. Likewise, when he entered the house, she would greet him, kiss his hands and etc....."

25. The Prophet about Fatima
Verily, in Heaven, Fatima is the Lady Supreme over all Women فاطمه سيدة نساء العالمين
Fatima is a portion of me, He who hurts, hurts me; and he who loves her, loves me
فاطمة بضعة مني من آذاها فقد آذاني ومن أحبها فقد أحبني.
Whoever hurts Fatima, hurts me, and whoever hurts me, hurts Allah, glory be to Him!"
Allah becomes wrathful for Fatima's anger, and He is pleased at her pleasure. إن الله ليغضب لغضب فاطمة ويرضى لرضاها.
Fatima is my heart and very soul. فاطمة قلبي وروحي التي بين جنبَيّ.

26. Before the Prophet died:
The Prophet’s sickness continued for more than fourteen days.  His family was around him worried, sad, and full of anxiety.  They were tending to him the best they could.
He saw his beloved daughter, Fatima, and pointed to her. 
He whispered in her ear and she cried broken hearted.  Then he whispered again and she became cheerful and smiling! 
Everyone was puzzled.  Sometime after, A'isha asked her about what was going on, and Fatima answered,
"At first he told me he was not going to recover, so I cried.  Then he told me that I would be the first one in his family to join him, so it made me happy and cheerful."

27. The Prophet about Ali أنت مني بمنزله هارون من موسى
أنت مني بمنزله هارون من موسى
إلا أنه لا نبي من بعدي
“O' Ali!  In relation to me you are of the same station and rank as [Prophet] Haroon was to Musa,
but that there is no Prophet after me
علي ولي كل مــؤمـن من بــــعـدي
Ali is the Wali (The authority) over every Mu'min, after me

28. The Prophet about Ali
أنا وعلي أبوا هذه الأمه، من عـرفـنا فـقد عـرف الله، ومن أنكـرنا فقد أنكـر الله عز وجل
ومن علي سـبـطا أمتي وسيدا شباب أهل الجنه: ألـحـسن والـحــسـين
ومن ولد الـحـســـين تـســعه: طاعـــتـهم طاعــــتي ومـعـــصيـتهم معـــصـيتي،
تاســـعـهم قائـــمـهم ومـهـــــــديـهم
I [Muhammad] and Ali are the fathers of this nation. He who recognizes us as such believes in Allah, the Mighty and Glorious. And from Ali are my two grandchildren, Al-Hasan and Al-Husain, each of whom is the Prince over the Youth in Heaven;
and among the descendants of Al-Husain are nine, obedience to them is obedience to me, and disobedience to them is disobedience to me.
The ninth of them is their Qaa'im and Mahdi (the firmly established), the executor, and the Divinely trained for right guidance.

29. The Prophet about Ali
عليٌُ باب عـلـمــي، ومـبــــين من بـعـدي لأمـتي ما أرســــلـت به،
حـبـــــه إيـمــــــان وبـغـضــــــه نـفــــــاق
Ali is the doorway to my knowledge, and after me he will explain to my followers about what has been sent to me.
Love for Ali is faith, and to spite him is hypocrisy.
أنت يا علي تبــين لأمــتي ما أختــلـفوا فيه من بعدي
Oh Ali, you will clarify to my Ummah
what they had differed in, after me [after I am gone]

30. The Prophet about Ali
إن الله عـهـد إلي في علي  أنه رايه الهـدى،  وإمام أوليائي،
ونـور من اطاعـني، وهو الكلمه التي ألـْزمـــتـُهـا المـتــقـيــــــن
Allah has pledged to me that Ali is the banner of guidance,
the Imam of my devotees, and the light for those obedient to me;
He [meaning Ali] is the word which I impose upon the pious as a duty.
أنا مديـــنه العـلم وعليٌ بابــها
فــمن أراد فـلـيــدخـل من الـبــــاب
I am the dwelling of knowledge (I’lm) and Ali is its gateway.
He who wants to reach this dwelling, should come through this gateway

31. The Prophet about Ali
This Ali is my brother in this world and in the hereafter. Among my descendants he is my Khalifa; he is my successor (vicegerent) in my community.
He is the heir to my knowledge; he is the payer of my debt.
What belongs to him belongs to me; what belongs to me belongs to him;
his benefit is my benefit and his loss is my loss.
He who is a friend of his is really a friend of mine and he who is an enemy of his is really an enemy of mine." Ahmad ibn Muhammad al-Tha'labi in his Manaqib and Tafsir
Don't try to find faults with ‘Alī, he is indeed from me and I am from him, he is your leader after me. He is from me and I am from him, he is your leader after me Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal

32. The Prophet about Ali يا عـلي طـوبى لــمن أحــــبك وصـــدق فـيك
يا عـلي طـوبى لــمن أحــــبك وصـــدق فـيك
وويـل لـمن أبـغـــضك وكـــذب فـيـك
O Ali! Joy for the ones who love you and believe in your words;
and
Woe for the ones who detest you and disbelieve in you.
علي مـني  وانا مـن عـلي
ولا يـــؤدي عـني  إلا  أنا  وعـلي
Ali is of me and I am of Ali
and none delivers except me and Ali

33. The Prophet about Ali حُــب عـلي إيـمــــــان
حُــب عـلي إيـمــــــان
وبغــــــضـه نـفـــــــاق
The love of Ali is:  Faith
and Detesting him is:  Hypocrisy
من ســـــب عـلــــياً    فقد ســـبـني
 The one who profanes Ali  will have profaned me

34. The Prophet about Ali
من أطاعـني، فـقــد أطاع الله ومن عــصاني،  فـقـــد عـصى الله
ومن أطاع عـلياً،  فـقد أطاعـني ومن عـصى عـلياً،  فـقــد عـصاني
The Prophet (pbuh) said in a Hadith about the value of Ali:
The person who obeys me: will have obeyed Allah,
and the one who disobeys me: will have disobeyed Allah.
And the person who obeys Ali: will have obeyed me,
and the one who disobeys Ali: will have disobeyed me.

35. The Prophet about Al-Husain
أنت ســيد إبـن ســـيد، أنـت إمـــــام إبن إمـــــام، أخـو إمــــام أبـو ألإمــــه
وأنـت حـجــــه الله وابـن حجــــــته
وأبو حـجــــج تـسـعـــه من صـلـبـك تاســــعـهم قائـــــمـهم
When Al-Husain was a few years old the Prophet (pbuh) stated on his behalf:
You are a Sayyid (Supreme Master) and the son of Sayyid.
You are an Imam and the son of an Imam, and the brother of an Imam.
You are Allah's proof and confirmation and the son of His proof.
You are the father of nine of Allah's proofs in your line of descendants. Their ninth is their Qaa'im (the firmly established, the executor)

36. The Prophet about Al-Hasan and Al-Husain
من أحـب الحـسـن والحسين فـقـد أحـبـني ومن أبغـضهـما فـقـد أبغـضـني
The person who loves Al-Hasan and Al-Husain will also have loved me, and the one who detests them
will have detested me.
أنا  ســـــلم  لـمن  ســــــالمــتم           وحـرب  لـمن  حــــــاربــــــتم
I am in peace with the ones you are in peace with,
and I am in battle with the ones whom you are in battle with.

37. An anecdote
According to Hudhayfah: “ We saw delight in the Prophet’s face one day, so we asked him about it, he said:
“How could I not be delighted when (archangel) Gabriel has come to me and brought me news of Hasan and Husain being masters of the youths of Paradise and of their father being better to them”. Tareekh Ibn Asakir Ch.2 p.209/Thakha’ir al-Oqba p.129.
Truly, al-Hasan and al-Husain are my fragrant roses from this world”. Kanz al-Ummal Ch. 13 H.558 p.98

38. Ziyarah of Rasool Allah
السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّه السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّين
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ الرِّسَالَةَ وَأَقَمْتَ الصَّلاَةَ وَآتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ وَأَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَر
وَعَبَدْتَ اللَّهَ مُخْلِصاً حَتَّى أَتَاكَ الْيَقِينُ فَصَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَتُهُ وَعَلَى أَهْلِ بَيْتِكَ الطَّاهِرِين
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُه
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَأَنَّكَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّه
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ بَلَّغْتَ رِسَالاَتِ رَبِّكَ وَنَصَحْتَ لِأُمَّتِكَ وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّه
وَعَبَدْتَ اللَّهَ حَتَّى أَتَاكَ الْيَقِينُ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَة
وَأَدَّيْتَ الَّذِي عَلَيْكَ مِنَ الْحَقِّ وَأَنَّكَ قَدْ رَؤُفْتَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِين
وَغَلُظْتَ عَلَى الْكَافِرِينَ فَبَلَّغَ اللَّهُ بِكَ أَفْضَلَ شَرَفِ مَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِين
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي اسْتَنْقَذَنَا بِكَ مِنَ الشِّرْكِ وَالضَّلاَلَة ..…..

39. Ziyarah of Rasool Allah
I bear witness that there is no god except Allah. He is unique, there is no partner unto Him
And I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Prophet.
I bear witness that you are the Prophet of Allah and that you are Muhammad, the son of ‘Abd Allah’
And I bear witness that you proclaimed the messages of your Lord and that you advised your people and strived in the path of Allah
And you served your Lord with wisdom and goodly preaching until death overtook you;
And you fulfilled the duty imposed on you and that you were kind to the believers and severe on the disbelieves.
Allah has made you attain the highest position of honor and nobility.
Praise be to Allah who, through you, has saved us from polytheism and from going astray; …….
