A. It is a series of steps that scientists use to answer questions and solve problems.

1. Make an observation
2. Ask a question about the observation
3. Form a hypothesis to investigate the question
4. Conduct experiments to test the hypothesis
5. Analyze the results of the experiment
6. Draw conclusions from the experiments

Joe just bought an aquarium for his room. He filled the aquarium with water from the kitchen faucet. He put goldfish and guppies in the aquarium. Several days later, Joe noticed that all the guppies were dying but the goldfish were surviving. Put the steps of the scientific method to use in order to explain why this was happening.

The only variable is that each plant will receive a different amount of water. Plant 1 will get no water. Plant 2 will get water everyday. Plant 3 will get water three times a week. And, plant 4 will get water once a week. The experiment will last one month.
