DUTIES CREATED ON OCTOBER 1ST 2000 “ON AN EXPERIMENTAL LEVEL FOR ONE YEAR” UNDER THE HEADING “FOREIGN LANGUAGE OFFICE OF THE CARABINIERI” AND PLACED UNDER THE AUTHORITY OF THE CENTRAL COMMAND OF THE CARABINIERI SCHOOLS, IT HAS INHERITED: FROM THE HEADQUARTERS OF THE CC - OFFICE OF TRAINING AND PROTOCOL THE FOLLOWING DUTIES: - PLANNING - ORGANIZATION - IMPLEMENTATION OF ALL LINGUISTIC ACTIVITIES FOR THE CC BOTH NATIONALLY AND INTERNATIONALLY FROM THE ARMY FOREIGN LANGUAGE SCHOOL, THE AUTHORITY TO CERTIFY THE PROFICIENCY LEVEL IN THE FOREIGN LANGUAGES IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE STANAG NATO 6001 AMPLIFIED AS J.F.L.T. - T.U.I. – T.U.C. - T.P.C. ON MAY 1ST, 2004 IT HAS BECOME THE NEW FOREIGN LANGUAGE CENTER OF THE CARABINIERI ARMED SERVICE

EXPOSING OUR STUDENTS TO THE WAY THE LANGUAGE IS USED IN DIFFERENT COUNTRIES (LEVELS OF FORMALITY AND INFORMALITY), EXPOSING OUR STUDENTS TO THE DIFFERENCES IN THE LANGUAGE AND MEANING (E.G. SPELLING, PRONUNCIATION, ETC…).

TEACHING OUR STUDENTS TO COMMUNICATE BY USING ENGLISH IN THE CLASSROOM (LEARN BY EXAMPLE); USING TOPIC-BASED LESSON PLANS: I.E A LESSON ABOUT ARMS TRAFFICKING (TAKEN FROM “TOPIC-BASED LESSON PLANS FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL) INCLUDES: TEACHING USEFUL VOCABULARY, A READING EXERCISE, A DISCUSSION/DEBATE AND FINALLY A WRITTEN EXERCISE (REINFORCING WHAT The students have learned); TEACHING THE STUDENTS THE VOCABULARY THEY NEED TO WRITE, A LESSON ON “REPORT WRITING FOR JOB-RELATED PURPOSES” TAKEN FROM “WRITING MANUAL FOR MILITARY PERSONNEL” INCLUDES: A SECTION DEDICATED TO LEARNING THE VOCABULARY, THE FORMAT, ONE OR TWO EXAMPLES AND FINALLY A WRITING TASK (REINFORCING WHAT THE STUDENTS HAVE Learned):
