4 What is the Key Club? Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students. What makes Key Club so successful is the fact that it is a student-led organization that teaches leadership through serving others. Members of the Kiwanis International family, Key Club members build themselves as they build their schools and communities. Basically, Key Club is a high school club that performs community service throughout the school year. Breast Cancer Walk - Oct 21, 2007

5 Requirements for the Key Club
Members are required to volunteer for a minimum of 3 hours per week. S.O. Card Dues are $12 for the incoming members and $8 for returning members This year, we’re starting the POINT SYSTEM!!! City Year Project - April 21, 2008

6 What are the Dues for? All the dues go to the Key Club International
All the members get a Card, a Key Club Pin, Key Club magazines, and a Certificate for the active members Rest of the money are used to fund projects Queens Center for Progress Walk - April 5, 2008

7 Point System Walks: 5 Points per mile, and 1 point per dollar raised (25 points max for the donation) Fundraiser: 5 points per box/container Bake Sale: 5 points for bakers, 5 points per hour for sellers Going Green Projects: 20 points for 4 or less hours, 5 points per hour after 4 hours Blood Drive: 10 points March of Dimes - April 27, 2008

8 Point System (Cont’d) Drives: Ranges from 5 – 15 points depending on the importance of the drive Meetings: 3 points (Meetings will be held second and fourth Thursday of the month) Suggestions: 5 points (If it’s approved) Response to random s: 3 points Other: 3 – 10 points City Year Project - January 21, 2008

9 Point System (Cont’d, Cont’d)
Every month, the member with the most points will be named as “Member of the Month.” He/She will get a prize. =) Members are required to reach 100 points before the second semester starts. By the way, there are 4~5 walks in October (each walk is about 20 points!). If you come to all the walks and all the meetings, that is already 100 points! Anyone who wishes to run for an officer position is required to reach 180 points. He/She must also attend at least 3 divisional meetings Aids Walk – May 18, 2008
