2 We Do Not Need Marriage . . . Making Sure We Are Compatible.
Being More “EQUAL” In Our Relationship We Do Not Need A Piece of Paper To Prove Our Love

3 The Sanctity Of Marriage
“Sanctity” defined: The state of being sanctified; Holy; Sacredness, Solemnity. The sanctity of marriage means it is a solemn and sacred relationship. Enter it with respect as we would view a private room with a “do not disturb” sign on the door.

4 Sanctity: GOD INTSITUTED Marriage
God said it is not good for man to be alone (v.18) God made woman- “Help” and “Meet” for man (v.18) “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife, and they shall be one flesh” (Gen. 2:24) God brought woman to man (v.22) God establishes marriage for future generations

5 Sanctity: Keep the relationship SEXUALLY PURE
Abstain from Pre-Marital Sex! Abstain from Extra-Marital Sex! “Let marriage be hand in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge” (Heb. 13:4) Abstain from Homosexual Sex! Abstain From Sex with Animals!

6 Sanctity: Keep Marriage PERMANENT
“Chorizo” – Separation that leaves one in “unmarried” state (I Cor. 7:10-11) God HATES DIVORCE (Malachi 2:16) “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matt. 19:6, Mk. 10:9) Marriage is for LIFE (I Cor. 7:39, Rom. 7:2-3)

7 Sanctity: Keep Marriage PERMANENT
God HATES DIVORCE (Malachi 2:16) Marriage is for LIFE (I Cor. 7:39, Rom. 7:2-3) “What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder” (Matt. 19:6, Mk. 10:9) One Exception: FORNICATION (Matt. 19:9, 5:32)

8 Sanctity: Keep MARRIAGE PERMANENT
“Remain unmarried” is not “permissive” (I Cor. 7:10-11) To remain in the consequence (unmarried) of an action (divorce) does not necessarily permit the action. Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?

9 KATALLASO – “Be reconciled to God” (2 Cor. 5:20)
DIALLASSO – “Mutual concession” (Matt. 5:24) Be “Reconciled” (I Cor. 7:11)

10 KATALLASO – “Be reconciled to God” (2 Cor. 5:20)
Be “Reconciled” (I Cor. 7:1 1) DIALLASSO – “Mutual concession” (Matt. 5:24) “And this is the reason why the Apostle never uses diallasso [a word used only in Matt. 5:24, in the N.T.] in this connection, but always katallasso, because the former word denotes mutual concession after mutual hostility [frequently exemplified in the Sept.] and idea absent from katallasso” ( Vine, p. 261; quote of Lightfoot; Notes On The Epistles of Paul, p. 288)

11 Sanctity: Keep MARRIAGE PERMANENT Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?
Peter’s “leaving” was not divorcing his wife (Lk. 18:29-30, 28; I Cor. 9:5) Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?

12 Sanctity: Keep MARRIAGE PERMANENT Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?
Jesus was asked about “divorce” – not divorce and remarriage (Matt. 19:1-6) Jesus: Only one reason for divorce (fornication), in turn gives right to marry (Matt. 19:9) Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?

13 Sanctity: Keep MARRIAGE PERMANENT
Force of “exception” – if and only if (Jn. 8:24) You will die in your sins, except (“if and only if”) you believe in deity of Jesus Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?

14 Sanctity: Keep MARRIAGE PERMANENT Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?
Kingdom’s sake? running drugs through home, abuse, not paying bills, etc. Erodes permanency of marriage – “Scriptural putting away” becomes “Subjective” Divorce “FOR THE KINGDOM’S SAKE”?
