5 Course Selection 8th Grade Students were given a Course Selection Guide (CSG) on Monday , January 30th Worksheets with teacher recommendations on Feb. 3rd 9th grade counts - transcripts will list all 9th grade final course grades Choose your classes wisely, the courses you choose will determine your year-long schedule. The master schedule is created based on your selections, which determines space available and class offerings

7 Course Selection Complete your PE, technology and art credits early if you are considering Eastern Center for Arts & Technology List your electives in order of preference on  your card – you might not get your top choice! Courses may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment or staffing restrictions Credits should equal 8.0, 8.5 or 9.0

8 What courses should I take?
Students should take the most challenging courses in which they can be successful, maintain a competitive GPA and still have a healthy lifestyle.  This means that students will have time left after studying for social and physical activities. The schedule should also allow students time to find or pursue their passions through electives and extracurricular activities.

9 Course Selection Worksheets must be returned Friday, February 10th to Guidance HS Counselors will input course selections with students on February 21st – February 23rd Selections will go online mid-March Last day for any changes – April 13th Guidance Website

10 Directed Study/Lunch No requests for Directed Study/Lunch schedule changes, based on friends or other personal preferences, will be made. Students are individually assigned to a Directed Study with an available teacher on their schedule. -Pages 6 & 7 of CSG

18 Freshman Academy Freshman year in high school is a time of excitement and expectation. It is a time when young people discover who they are and more importantly, who they can become. The transition from middle school to high school is a big step in a young person’s life. This transition is supported by our freshman academy model.

25 Summer Programs Summer Nights
At the end of August, from 6:30-8:00 pm, we invite all interested incoming freshman to our Summer Nights Program. This will provide an opportunity for the newest members of our high school to gather some important information about the high school, tour the building, and find their classrooms in preparation for the first day of school. We hope to see you here in August.  

26 New Student Registration For students new to the Hatboro-Horsham School District
New 9th grade students on Tue. Feb 21st & Wed Feb. 22nd Items required at the time of registration are: Immunization records Birth Certificate Proof of residence - Lease Agreement, Settlement Papers or Deed to Property; (3) bills that come to the home with your name and address imprinted; Report card and/or Transcript (UNOFFICIAL). Other documents such as an IEP or custody agreement if applicable To register, an appointment needs to be made with Janice Moore (215) and a registration packet needs to be completed After registering, please contact the High School Guidance Office for an appointment to select classes
